Have you been receiving phone calls from eBay recently? Explaining what you can do to your listings to get better placement in search results and get more people to view your items. Or maybe telling you about their recent changes and what you need to do and where to get the information. If you have not, just wait they may have not gotten to your account yet.

I’ve actually received several of these calls and have only actually picked up one of their calls. The person did talk to me and explained what she wanted to tell me. But when I asked them about something else, she couldn’t answer my question. All she could say, “I’ll have to look into it and email you an answer.” I’m still waiting for my email answer. When I didn’t answer their calls they left me a scripted message.

I just read at AuctionBytes Blog that one of eBay’s employee’s could not read their phone script. All they have to do is read exactly what is on the sheet in front of them. Doesn’t sound to hard. Look at the video below to hear what happened.

I think this employee should buy a voice recorder and do some trial runs before she actually makes a call. By recording herself reading the script she will be able to hear how others hear her. This can make a world of a difference from her being able to run through her script without a problem and what actually happened to her on this call.
