It’s been a while since I sold anything on eBay. There have been many life changing events that have made me put my eBay business to the side. I really didn’t want to put it to the side. But some things are more important.

So now that I have things under control, I have decided to start my eBay business up again. It’s been a while and I see that eBay has changed many of their rules. You now can not sell certain items that you use to be able to sell. Their fee structute has changed, heaper listing fees but higher final value fees. With such new rules it is going to be tough to make money. 

So I just looked on eBay completed listings to see if there is still a buying market for what I use to sell. The results I got from doing this search really didn’t tell me much. There were some auctions that sold and some that didn’t. Some sold for a lot of money and some that sold so low that I wish I was able to buy and resell again. This type of info didn’t tell me if there is still many buyers for my products. I need to look at more past information and maybe even a trend report. But eBay only offers what they offer.

 So I did a search for a tool that can get me the information I need. I looked at a couple of ones that came up. Their websites looked OK but for some reason I didn’t feel confident in any of them. Some of them would give me the past information I was looking for, but displayed it in such a way I couldn’t understand. What good is having the info you need but can’t use it?

I then contacted a good friend that I use to talk to about eBay. He was still selling on eBay and asked him what tool does he use to get his information. The one he told me was Terapeak. So I went and took a look at their site. I must say I was very impressed. They give me

• 365 days of eBay selling history
• 2 years of seasonally trend reports
• a what it’s worth tool
• It also lets me spy on the other people who are selling my product
• IPhone app. This is the best one since I do have an IPhone.

Now that’s what I was looking for. Especially since I have been out of the loop for such a long time.

I’m going to order this right now since it will:

1. Save me time. No longer wondering what is a hot item.
2. Save me money. I’m not going to sell stuff that doesn’t have buyers.
3. Give me the infomration I need
4. Can use my Iphone with it

Can you still make money selling on eBay? I’m sure I can by using this tool. I’m going to give it a try.
